The Puppies Have Arrived :)

This morning around 0300 Ruby started having her litter.  We ended up with 2 males and 4 females for a total of 6 pups.  Ruby and all the puppies are doing well.

Ready to Burst!

Only a few more days to go and  Ruby is getting quite big.  We are excited for this batch of pups to get here.  In getting ready for the pups I have taken on the project of making a new whelping box.  I made it 3 feet x 5 feet and 32 inches tall.  One side is detachable and the roof is detachable also to help with access to the pups.  I used  a 2x6 and 2x4 to make a pig rail around the box.  The box is recessed into the shed and I made the door so it can be accessed from outside.  This is where the pups will be born and live for the first few weeks of there lives. It was fun putting it together with the kids, and it will work great for the new arrivals.   I still need to paint the front but will post pictures soon.

Wasatch Fox Reds                                 Hip & Eye Guarantee Wasatch must be part of the registered name and the pup must be registered by 6 months of age or the guarantee is void.

Wasatch Fox Reds carry an OFA/CERF Guarantee. This covers hereditary
genetic disorders that prevent your puppy from being certified by
OFA/CERF for hips, elbows and eyes.

Owner must have the pups eyes examined by 6 months of age by a
Certified Veterinary Ophthalmologist. The Ophthalmologist must state in
writing, with certainty, the defect is hereditary and not caused by injury or
any illness. Dogs checked after 6 months of age are not guaranteed.

Guarantee only covers original owner as long as the dog has been x-rayed
between 24 and 28 months and has not been bred. Dog must be certified
to be dysplastic by OFA or does not CERF with documented veterinarian
visits that show weight gain as to show the dog was not over fed or the
result of injury.


The dog will be replaced by another Wasatch Fox Red puppy or the sale
 price will be refunded if alternate litter unavailable or unplanned, provided:

- We have certification the dog has been spayed or neutered.
- A copy of the findings from OFA/CERF has been sent to us.
- Documentation of all regular veterinary visits including x-rays.
- Replacement will be another Wasatch Fox Red of the same sex and       
  similar breeding.
- The owner will pay all transportation costs and will keep the original dog.
